A Trip Down Memory Lane

What better way to end the year than by taking a trip down memory lane. Based down on St Kilda Beach we are a hub for summer activity and have some amazing events to look back on (and look forward to).

Last summer Captain Baxter had the opportunity of partnering with Grey Goose Vodka to bring St Kilda an activation that saw a relaxed yet premium environment on their Riviera Rooftop. It truly was an event that allowed people to live like summer never ends all while sipping on Grey Goose cocktails in lounge chairs and cabanas. Think the French Riviera located on St Kilda’s hottest rooftop location.

Following on from Captain Baxter’s Riviera Rooftop was an Australia Day long weekend bar and restaurant like no other. Our prime St Kilda location was bursting at the seams with live music from local artists as well as playing the Hottest 100 on Captain Baxter’s rooftop for a truly Aussie atmosphere. Captain Baxter also created a Pavlova Sour cocktail available for the long weekend only, for a classic Australian dessert with a bit of a twist (and a kick). Moving downstairs to Republica St Kilda Beach who had created their Tim Tam Espresso Martini which had (almost) all of Melbourne desperate to come down for a taste. Some of the world’s best Tennis stars were seen enjoying a couple after Melbourne’s Australian Open.

Not only have we had the pleasure of having hundreds of local artists and performers perform at our beachside bars, but we also had the privilege of hosting the one and only Lizzo Beating in January 2020. We saw our wedding and events venue, Encore St Kilda, transform into an intimate concert space with a large stage for Lizzo and her backup dancers. The Fox 101.9 organised the event with lucky listeners winning tickets to the concert over their radio show. Safe to say, it was definitely one of the highlights of our year!

And if you thought we were going to stop at Lizzo then think again. Because just a month later we had the world famous Pussycat Dolls perform live in Republica’s beachfront courtyard! Unreal, we know. We all had flashbacks to our childhood as we saw the 5 Pussycat Dolls perform their hits such as “Don’t Cha” and “Buttons” as well as their newest  single “React”.

We definitely were able to get some great summer events in and we are looking forward to seeing Melbourne Events kicking off soon. Here is to Celebrating Christmas Parties in style and It won’t be long until New Years Eve 2021, New Years Day 2021 and then the Australian Open 2021 is just around the corner.
