Life's a Beach
Researchers have found that living closer to the beach significantly improves ones health and overall wellbeing. Sea-side life encourages a more active beach-lifestyle and also reduces the effects of stress. Even in the colder months the ocean and beach gives us all a reason to spend a little more time outdoors. You would be surprised how much a little bit of Vitamin D and some Sea Breeze can benefit you over the winter tide.
It’s often too easy to not take full advantage of our surroundings, which is such a shame when St Kilda has so much to offer. For thrill seekers there’s Tandem Skydiving and Kitesurfing right on our doorstep. If adrenaline is not your cup of tea then we recommend an appointment with the St Kilda penguins, (the best time is at dusk on St Kilda Pier) or a visit to the Sunday Esplanade Market just across the road from us at St Kilda Sea Baths. Without moving a muscle, you can live vicariously most days of the week by watching parachutes ascend on St Kilda Beach, courtesy of SkyDive Melbourne. It is wonderful to see the buzz from sky-divers when they come for an after jump drink and meal with us.
There are so many options to enjoy, such as a lazy hot seawater spa and refreshing dip in Port Phillip Bay pre-drinks and dinner at our wonderful St Kilda Restaurant, Bar and outside Courtyard or beachside dining area.
Finish the day off and join us at Republica, for beers, a bite and maybe a band. It’s better for you.
