The Gin Fling at Captain Baxter

Making the most of summer’s lingering rays, Secret Foodies took over beachside rooftop venue Captain Baxter for a nautical themed event any gin connoisseur wouldn’t want to miss! Pairing up with Fever-TreeHayman’s Gin, and Adelaide Hills Distillery, the occasion was set to be one to remember.

With a bespoke gin list to taste, and a self-garnishing cocktail station abundant with bright, fresh produce, drinks were as gorgeous as they were delicious. Top it off with seafood focused canapes and beachy DJ tunes, and you’ve got the complete recipe for a great day.

Adelaide Hill’s Distillery Sunset Gin, with Fever-Tree Aromatic Tonic and pomegranate was a definite standout. Think fresh red berries, subtle hints of pine and eucalyptus, topped off with the crunch of pomegranate. The perfect drink to wash down freshly shucked Appelation oysters, or vietnamese raw beef, fermented chilli and betel leaf canapés.

If you didn’t make it to the event, never fear! Make a night of it and head down to Captain Baxter before the end of Apri to try the G&T with Fever-Tree list yourself. Our recommendation is to grab some delicious shared plates and time it with the killer St Kilda sunset.
